Reading your personalized routine: a walkthrough

Once you finish the quiz, you'll land on your routine page. Here's how to read it so you actually use it — not just bookmark it.

The structure of your routine

Your routine is organized by when you do things, not by product type. That's intentional — it's easier to follow "what should I do tonight?" than to flip between "shampoos" and "leave-ins."

  • Wash day — your full cleansing, conditioning, and styling sequence. The longest part of the routine, but you only do it 1–3 times a week depending on your hair.

  • Between washes — refreshing, scalp care, and second-day styling. The lighter daily upkeep.

  • Weekly add-ons — deep conditioning, scalp treatments, clarifying. These rotate based on what your hair needs.

  • As-needed — protein treatments, repair masks, oiling. Things you reach for when something feels off.

Why each step exists

Every step in your routine includes a short "why" — what it's doing for your specific hair. If you ever want to skip a step, read the why first. Sometimes you can; sometimes the next step depends on it.

The product recommendations

Each step has product suggestions matched to your budget. You'll typically see options at different price points so you can mix and match. None of the recommendations are sponsored — they're chosen based on ingredient fit for your hair.

How often should you check back?

  • First 2 weeks — follow the routine as-written and notice what changes.

  • After ~4 weeks — most people see real shifts in hair behaviour. If something isn't clicking, that's the time to retake the quiz or ask Rituala for an adjustment.

  • Seasonally — your hair's needs shift with humidity and temperature. A quick check-in every few months keeps your routine relevant.

Saving and sharing your routine

Your routine is saved to your Rituala account automatically — you don't need to bookmark anything. To re-open it any time:

  1. Sign in at tryrituala.com with the email you used at signup

  2. Go to your dashboard — your most recent routine is there

Account page in Rituala where your routines are saved

If you'd like a copy you can keep offline or share, both Starter and Journey include PDF export from the routine page. You can also send the routine link to anyone (a stylist, partner, dermatologist) — they'll see a public version of the routine without your private profile data.

Got questions about a specific step? Ask Rituala in the chat — it can explain anything in your routine in plain language.
