Ask Rituala is the AI chat assistant built into your routine experience. Think of it as a hair-literate friend you can ping whenever you have a question about your hair, your routine, or a product.
What you can ask
"Why is my hair frizzy this week?" — it'll consider your hair profile, recent steps, and known causes (humidity, protein/moisture imbalance, technique drift) to help diagnose.
"Can I swap [product A] for [product B]?" — it'll compare ingredient lists against your hair's needs.
"What does [ingredient name] do?" — straightforward ingredient explanations, contextualized for your porosity and damage profile.
"My routine isn't working anymore — what changed?" — it'll walk through common reasons (seasonal shift, build-up, protein overload, technique fatigue).
"Adjust my routine for [travel / a new climate / colour-treatment / postpartum / a wedding]" — temporary or permanent tweaks.
What it does well
Reasoning over your hair profile, not generic advice
Reading ingredient lists and flagging concerns based on your porosity and goals
Explaining the "why" behind any step in your routine
Diagnosing common issues (frizz, breakage, dullness, scalp build-up)
Remembering your conversation — within a routine, Ask Rituala loads the prior chat history, so you can pick up where you left off without re-explaining your hair.
What it doesn't do
Medical diagnosis — for hair loss, scalp conditions, or anything that might be medical, please see a dermatologist or trichologist.
Real-time product availability or pricing — it'll suggest products based on what fits your hair, but check retailers for current stock and prices.
Account or billing questions — for those, message our support team directly.
Chat limits by plan
Ask Rituala is included on every paid plan, with different message allowances:
Free — 10 messages total (lifetime).
Starter ($19) — 30 messages total (lifetime).
Journey ($59/year) — 100 messages every month, refreshing on your billing date.
If you hit the limit on Starter or Free, you can upgrade to Journey for the higher monthly allowance.
Tips for better answers
Be specific. "My hair is frizzy" gets a generic answer. "My hair is frizzy on the second day after wash, mostly at the crown" gets a useful one.
Mention what changed. If you switched products, climates, or skipped a step, say so up front.
Push back. If an answer feels off, say "that didn't work" or "tell me why" — the chat improves with follow-up.
Open Ask Rituala from your routine page any time you've got a question.
