Your hair changes — through seasons, stress, hormones, colour, and life. So your routine should change too. Here's how to update your hair profile in Rituala.
When to retake the quiz
Major hair change — colour, bleach, keratin treatment, big chop, growing out a treatment.
Climate or location change — moved cities, started spending lots of time in a different humidity.
Routine stopped working — products that used to work don't, or new issues (frizz, breakage, dryness) show up.
Life shifts — postpartum, peri-menopause, new medications. These all affect hair.
Seasonal check-in — most people benefit from a refresh every 3–6 months.
How to retake it
Sign in at tryrituala.com
Go to your Profile page (the one showing your hair details)
Click the Retake Quiz button at the top of the Hair Details section. You can also tap any individual quiz answer on the profile to jump straight to that question instead of redoing the whole quiz.
Walk through the questions, updating any answers that have changed
When you finish, your hair profile is updated
There's no limit on retakes and no extra charge — retaking the quiz is included in every plan.
What happens to your existing routine
Updating your profile alone doesn't automatically rebuild your routine. If you're on Starter, your existing routine stays as-is and you can use Ask Rituala or the routine actions to apply changes. If you're on Journey, you can regenerate the routine from your updated profile any number of times — Journey includes unlimited routine generations. Either way, the profile changes you save will inform future product swaps and any new routine you generate.
Just one thing changed?
If only one or two things have shifted (you got highlights, you moved somewhere drier), you don't always need a full re-quiz. Open Ask Rituala and tell it what changed — it can adjust your existing routine without starting from scratch.
Pro tip: take a quick "before" mental note of how your hair behaves now, so you can tell whether the new routine is moving things in the right direction.
